Kary to speak at MC Historical Society’s annual meeting

The Mellette County Historical Society will hold their annual meeting Wednesday, January 22, 2014. The meeting will be held at the Museum on Main Street in White River and will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a potluck supper. Everyone is invited to attend. Following supper, guest speaker Jean Kary will present some of her local histories.

WRHS 2013 LNI Quiz Bowl Champions

River otter released on Little White River part of plan to study reintroduction

Two river otter were released by Game, Fish, and Parks officials last month along the Little White River. The otter, one female from Moody County and one male from Brookings County, were incidentally captured and thus became available for the release that took place November 14.

Alumni games coming Friday

Holiday Fair brings community together

All-State Choir

All-State Chorus and Orchestra was held in Sioux Falls on November 2.  The White River quartet consisted of Emma Twite - soprano, Rachel Astleford - alto, Sage Mednansky - tenor and Mat Beardt - bass.  Lucas Beardt and Julia LeBoeuf were alternates.

Salute to those who served

Local veterans who served during World War II all the way through to those who served in the War on Terror were represented and guests of honor at the Veteran’s Day program Monday in White River.
