Alvina Christina Evans, 84, Spearfish, S.D., died Friday, October 26, 2012 at Spearfish Regional Hospital. She was born March 17, 1928, at White River, to John and Magdalena (Hoffman) Littau. She was raised in that area, graduating from the Dallas High School in 1946. She went on to college and obtained a teaching certificate.
On September 16, 1950, Alvina married Donald Evans at Gregory. Alvina worked as a teacher and substitute teacher. She also spent time working as a cashier while living in Nevada, and worked in a day care.
In June of 1993, Don and Alvina relocated to Spearfish after retirement to be closer to family. She enjoyed bowling leagues, and felt she was very fortunate to have lived a long and happy life. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Deadwood and lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary.
Alvina is survived by her children; Julie (Wayne) Hallan, Spearfish and Peter (Brigitte) Evans, Columbia Falls, MT; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by six brothers and sisters; Emma (Bill) Fawx, Adolph Littau, both of Ca, Donald Littau. OR, Ruben (Ruth) Littau, CA, Susanne (Leonard) Mundorf, MI, and Anton (Jeanine) Littau, AK.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, infant twins; one son and one daughter, two brothers; Fred Littau and Otto Littau, three sisters; Martha Shafer, Edna Stoltz, and Luella Ring.
Visitation for Alvina will be 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Monday, October 29, 2012, at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at Grace Lutheran Church in Deadwood. Interment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery.
