Dist. Governor visits White River Lions Club

Lions Club District Governor, Jan Wagner, who grew up in Avon, S.D., and now resides in Hot Springs, recently made a visit to White River. She talked with the White River Lions about diabetes being her passion as District Governor. She was supper guest and speaker for the monthly meeting in September. Jan’s challenge as Governor is to organize two new clubs and for each club to get three new members. She also spoke about how campus clubs are coming forward and functioning as internet clubs.
Jan told about the Lions International Convention she attended in Korea. There she was among 55,000 Lions representatives. Wayne Madden of Indiana is currently serving as International President, and joins the Global Service Campaign to aid the blind.
White River Lions Chairman George England outlined the Harlem Ambassador basketball event the Lions are sponsoring on October 10. The Lions will be feeding the group supper after the game and breakfast the following day. Coach Eldon Marshall is lining up the local team. Tickets are available in advance or at the door. The Lions look fåorward to a full house of fun and enjoyment. Ticket holders will be in on a drawing for an autographed basketball.
