Marilyn S Schwendenman

Marilyn S. Schwendenman, 68, a life long Rush County resident, passed away September 29, 2014 in Columbus.  Marilyn was born April 29, 1946 in Rushville to George C. & Lavon (Short) Wooldridge.  She was a 1964 graduate of Mays High School.  Marilyn married Thomas E. Schwendenman on September 7, 1968 and he preceded her in death on January 8, 1996.

Marilyn worked as a waitress at the Durbin Hotel and worked from 1982-2008 in the cafeteria at Rushville Jr. High School.  Her biggest love was that of being a farmer’s wife, mother & loving Auntie!  She was a member of Plum Creek Christian Church in her early life, St. Mary’s Catholic Church during her married life & most recently the Rushville Church of Christ.  Marilyn was also active in the Gingham Gals Home Ec Club since 1968.

She is survived by her son, Thomas E. Schwendenman II & wife Sarah of Rush County, a daughter, Suzanne “Susie” & husband George England of White River, SD, brothers, Robert & wife Janice Wooldridge of Knightstown, Richard & wife Diane Wooldridge of Lewisville, Larry Wooldridge of Mexico and John & wife Joanne Wooldridge of Straughn, a sister, Connie & husband Paris Cross of Mays and grandchildren, Lexi, Jake, Cory & Erin Schwendenman.  She was also survived by several nieces & nephews.    Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Chet & William and a sister, Charlotte Spilman.

Services were held at 10 AM Monday, October 6, 2014 at the Plum Creek Christian Church.  Friends were welcomed at visitation from 2-6 PM Sunday, October 5 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville.  Burial was in the Little Blue River Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Inpatient Facility in Columbus or the Decatur County Hospital-Wound Care Clinic.
